The law program in the School of Liberal Arts trains and prepares students for careers as paralegals in the legal profession.
The program provides students with practical legal skills as well as a background in legal concepts so graduates will be able to obtain jobs quickly in this rapidly expanding profession. Paralegals are typically employed in law firms and are also eligible for careers in government, business, and nonprofit organizations.
Employment of paralegals and legal assistants is projected to grow 4% from 2022 to 2032, about as fast as the average for all occupations. About 38,000 openings for paralegals and legal assistants are projected each year, on average, over the decade. Many of those openings are expected to result from the need to replace workers who transfer to different occupations or exit the labor force, such as retirement ( Occupational Outlook Handbook, 2023).
According to the IUPUI (now called IU Indianapolis) First Destination Survey in 2023, the average starting salary for liberal arts graduates with a bachelor's degree was $49,890, and the median salary was $47,420.

Because math is such an important element of almost every branch of science, engineering, technology, and industry, you can find work almost anywhere with this degree. Students in this program can choose between four concentrations: actuarial science, applied mathematics, applied statistics, and pure mathematics.
Math is an essential component of almost every branch of science, engineering, technology, and industry. When you have a math degree, you can find work almost anywhere, in any type of organization you can think of, from business to government.
You’ll also earn critical thinking, problem-solving, and investigative skills that will serve you well, no matter which direction your career takes you.

Students who complete this program have all of the skills and knowledge needed to pursue a career as a middle school or high school mathematics teacher.
After passing the professional exams offered by the state, they will be fully certified to teach. Mathematics teachers are in great demand nationwide. Students earning their teaching certification in mathematics can easily find jobs almost anywhere in the country, and experienced mathematics teachers make more than many people think. The national average salary for math teachers is about $54,330–$55,990.
Employment of high school teachers is projected to show little or no change from 2022 to 2032. Despite limited employment growth, a bout 67,100 openings for high school teachers are projected each year, on average, over the decade. Many of those openings are expected to result from the need to replace workers who transfer to different occupations or exit the labor force, such as retirement ( Occupational Outlook Handbook, 2023).

Learn how to produce materials like websites, smartphone apps, interactive education materials, games and simulations, 3D motion graphics, and more with this degree. You’ll develop your skills by combining creativity, digital storytelling, problem analysis, and concept mastery.
The focus of the media arts and science program is on creativity and digital storytelling while enhancing contemporary career-building skills. Our program offers education and experience on various integrated media venues in today’s convergent society. We strive to produce dynamic websites, smartphone apps, interactive education, serious and entertaining games and simulations, 3-D motion graphics, digital illustrations and animations, audio, and video.
Employment of special effects artists and animators is projected to grow 8% from 2022 to 2032, faster than the average for all occupations. About 9,400 openings for special effects artists and animators are projected each year, on average, over the decade.
