Self-Assessment

Why is it important to consider your interests, skills, values, and personality when you begin to search for a possible career? Doing so helps you find a career that’s a good fit. The better the career fits you, the happier you’ll be with it and the less time you’ll spend wondering how to shift to a different career later.

Steps for taking the FOCUS® 2 Career assessment

  1. Create a new FOCUS® 2 Career account using the IU Indianapolis code: jaguars.
  2. Take the five quick assessments under the "Self-Assessment" section. This will generate a list of majors and career suggestions.
  3. Click “See Your Top Career Choices” to find potential careers that match well with the results of your assessment.
  4. Click on “Explore the Possibilities” for more resources, including an IU Indianapolis-specific search.
