Success coaching offers:

  • Individualized support through regular one-on-one meetings
  • Goal-setting and success strategies for your career, educational, and personal growth
  • Referrals to campus resources and IU Indianapolis offices
  • Student engagement opportunities through campus and cohort community events
  • Financial literacy assistance for scholarships, financial aid, SAP appeals, etc.

Education:

Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, IUPUI, 2020

Biography: I was born in San Antonio, Texas, but raised in Indiana. I moved to Indianapolis in 2016 from Columbus, Indiana. My family is from Durango, Mexico and my favorite food is discada. In 2020, I graduated from IU Indianapolis (IUPUI at the time) with a B.S. in Criminal Justice. I previously worked with English Learners (K-12) and their families for several years. I love working with students and being an advocate for diverse learners. During my free time, I love hosting game nights, true crime podcasts, playing Lotería with my family, and finishing a book in one sitting.

 

 

Melissa Salerno

Education:

Bachelor of Arts, Psychology, Indiana University, 2019

 

Biography: I'm from a small town of Danville, Indiana but I now consider Indianapolis to be "home". I studied Psychology at IU Bloomington and have a background in school-based counseling. I enjoy meeting new people and exploring new places. In my free time, I enjoy reading Harry Potter, playing Fortnite and hanging out with my dog, Pacer.

 

Alijah Purdy

Associate’s of Science, Liberal Arts, Vincennes University 2013

 

Biography: I was born and raised on the west side of Indianapolis. I attended Ben Davis University High School, where I graduated with both my high school diploma and Associate’s Degree from Vincennes University. Since graduating high school, I have spent my career in the social work and education field, working with youth from all ages and adults to help give them the resources needed to improve their lives. When I’m not working, I like to go out to eat with friends, and enjoy watching television at home on my couch!
